With the warmth in London recently it’s like we live in a exotic location somewhere. When we styled our 3 African inspired tablescapes, the tables were drenched in sunlight and I’m now terrified of when this unbelievable weather is going to come to an end. What with Wimbledon and the world cup ending, (not to mention love island) I’m not the biggest fan of things ending. Warm weather brings with it happiness, opportunity and light. This can rub off on interiors in a huge way, if you compare a villa in Ibiza to a townhouse in London there’s a different aesthetic. But there’s no reason why you can’t style your home as if you live in sunnier climes. I certainly do! With our 3 African brands, Eva Sonaike, Latimer Living and Ardmore Design we thought it was high time we celebrate the charm of Africa and the warmth this style can bring your interiors with an Out of Africa collection.
There are so many different ways to integrate Africa into interior design. There’s the monochrome tribal look, the bold colour and print or the rustic wooden style.
Here are our 6 favourite ways to style Africa into your home.
1. Worldly African
Carley Summers is an interior designer who uses the world as her inspiration. Her interior projects have a strong lean towards Africa and Morocco with collectables, prints and textures. These two living rooms below show how to incorporate a warm African edge into a contemporary space.
2. African Luxe
Even though this is a luxury hotel in South Africa, it’s still got a rugged edge don’t you think? It brings in the warmth and charm of S.Africa through rattan textures, wooden antiques and cute animal sculptures. If you love this look, you’ll love our Latimer Living collection, which now has 20% off.
3. Bohemian African
Bohemian is one of our favourite interior styles, (you can shop our Boho Luxe style here). Here we have a jungle of a living room with very subtle African influences with the elephant planter, and woven ceiling light. In the bedroom below a Ju Ju hat decorates the space above the bed, this is an ideal way to bring some tribal glamour into a room.
4. Monochrome African
We love a subtle approach to the African style. Using a wheat based colour palette, off set with black and white as your accent colour. To take this to the next level we’d style with our leopard print cushions.
5. Animal Print
It’s no secret we love animal print, especially leopard print. Have a read of our blog post Our Love Affair With Animal Print Interiors for more wild inspiration. We love to combine bold leopard with bold colour.
6. Bold African
Go bold with African textiles and print. Mix and match for a layered and statement look. A way to easily achieve this is with our Eva Sonaike collection which will add some serious colour pop to your home.
