Firstly, we could write endlessly about the exterior. Look at the facade…
The white building, pillars and shutters are a combination to lust after. Especially in a sunny setting like Bahamas. The exotic palms are everything.
The interiors have an amazing mix of traditional with contemporary which is what India Hicks does best. There’s a big dose of British in their, along with splashes of tropical, this is the Bahamas after all. This pink sofa is so inspiring, it’s set against a neutral backdrop, and absolutely pops with those monochrome cushions.
It wouldn’t be the Bahamas without a pink wall. This office is a great lesson in introducing bold colour, in a tasteful way. Bringing in a dark chunky desk adds a classic edge, lightened with a gorgeous, beachy woven rug. And two dogs of course, they make any office better.
The bedroom is the epitome of island living. With beachy white wood walls and ceilings, and dark wooden floors and furniture, it’s like a luxe beach shack.
This is how to do a traditional gallery wall. This gallery will stand the test of time, with brass frames and and classic artwork. The sofa has miraculously changed colour…
This is how to style a fireplace mantel if you live on an island. Gigantic fan palms, along with sea treasures. The fire is even lit, as if it’s not warm enough already.
Even if you don’t live on a tropical island, introducing the colonial touch to your interiors can still be achieved. Follow India Hicks signature style of traditional with a splash of contemporary and you’ll be transported to these exotic climes.
