We’ve decided to go all traditional this week and take a tour a little closer to home, rather than being led astray to our usual fave tours in sun drenched California. We can’t help it!!
This time we’re taking a peak around a contemporary home in London. This is a house of dreams for many. Although conventional, the owners have modernised their home perfectly, enhancing all of the original Edwardian features in a contemporary way.
Look away now if you’re prone to house envy.
We love dark walls and this living space is the perfect room to do this in. With the original edwardian cornicing and the high ceilings this room still has plenty of light.
How utterly stylish and timeless is this bathroom? The mix of old and new is cleverly bought up to date with a dark palette and a copper bath.
We’ve featured this kitchen a lot on OWT. For many reasons it’s one of our favourite kitchens.
Is this the longest kitchen island you’ve ever seen? You could do a cartwheel across it and still have space at the end. Perfect for big family dinners and entertaining. The country cabinets are our favourite, modernised with brass handles and dark paint. This is the perfect style of kitchen in our eyes.
A bed fit for a king! This castle bed was handmade, and adds the right amount of charm and character. With a bed like this they’ll be in their PJ’s at lunch time.
Tufted headboards are in right now (when are they not!?) but we love the way they’ve combined this with antique furniture.
Who says a small space can’t have large personality?! Wallpaper in a small bathroom is the ideal way to pack some character in, it can also make it feel larger. Time to have a staring match with a puffa…
