Oh Whats This
HOME TOURS 29 Nov 2017 Rachael OWT

House envy isn’t exactly the first thing that springs to mind with the word bungalow, but it has a whole new meaning in California. So, yes we’ve gone and done it again, picked a home tour in sunnier climes. But can we help it when Californian homes are always oozing with style and sunshine?

After swooning over the images of this gorgeous bungalow designed by no other than Consort Design, (one of our fave design duos) we decided it just had to feature on OWT.

The house cleverly combines earthy with luxe, with the result being an organic meets glamorous space. Let’s take a look how they’ve got this look so bang on.

Get ready for a healthy dose of house envy:

Mix and Match Cushions

We love the mix of blue mud cloth bohemian cushions with monochrome print. And on both sides of the sofa for a symmetrical delight, an interior designer top tip.

2. Earthy wood & GOLD

The earthy wood coffee table adds the perfect bohemian vibe, contrasted with the metallic accessories.

Let’s take a closer look at the metallic accents adding the splash of bold against the wood texture:

3. Textures

Here a wooden mirror juxtaposes the glam gold shelving below, together with a perfect fiddle leaf fig tree in a woven basket. What could be better?

5. Colour

This black fireplace adds a bold statement to the light and airy living space. It also makes the perfect stand and backdrop for the colourful painting that sits on top. Painting a fireplace a bold colour is a great idea for adding a pop of colour to a neutral space.
